Grading policies and philosophy explained

CMS Sedgefield logoWe hope you have had time to read the Overview of Grading Philosophy and Policies that was sent home with all students for you to read and acknowledge. Please be sure read over this important information, as those are the symbols you will see in PowerSchool and we want to be sure it makes sense to you. Please be on the lookout for information to come home with your student about signing up for PowerSchool this week, or read more about it here.
Overall, a check mark means your student not only completed but mastered the work. An “M” means your student attempted to complete the work but did not master it and is making modifications, which is why we use “M,” even though it stands for missing.  A “0” means your child did not complete the work.  Also take time to review the CMS Middle School Grading Procedures Plan. Please note that homework will count for 10% of a student’s final grade.
